Give your patients the support and stability they need for:
TMJ oral appliance therapy
TMJD tension-related pain and TMJ headaches
Obstructive Sleep Apnea oral appliance therapy
Maxillofacial post-surgical recovery
TempOrthotics™ braces have a patented design for use with oral appliances to maintain a clinically correct, closed mouth position during sleep for TMJD or OSA therapy. These braces support the jaw in a forward rather than backward position. By using the placement of the elastic-enhanced straps in relation to the slope of the mandible, TempOrthotics™ braces offer relief from stress and tension in the temporalis and masseter muscle groups, cradling the mandible in the desired, forward, close-mouthed position.
TempOrthotics™ braces come in three models, each designed for a specific purpose:
- The Stabilizer™ is designed for the treatment of TMJD and provides gentle forward support of the mandible that allows for slight movement of the patient’s TMJ which is necessary for relaxation of the surrounding musculature.
- The Immobilizer™ provides a more secure fit in cases where less movement of the patient’s TMJ is desired, such as during post-craniofacial surgery when it is necessary that the jaw remain in a secure, stable, closed position. This brace can also be used for stress relief in cases where a patient’s jaw is wired closed by helping to curb the urge to strain the jaw muscles against the internal restraints.
- The Elevator™ brace is designed for use with an oral appliance in treating obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) by drawing the mandible to a forward position with a more rigid but comfortable chin support.
